Find out why the price you see when you book may be different from the price you saw online, and how to check the price for your date.
If the price you see when you go to book is different from the price you saw online, for example on the tour page or in search results, there are a few common reasons.
Why do prices change between departure dates?
Each departure date can have a different price. The cost of a tour depends on things like the services needed for that itinerary, demand during peak travel seasons, availability and any promotions running at the time.
What does the From price mean?
The From price is the lowest price available for the month and number of travelers you've selected. If you haven't selected a month, it's the lowest price across all available dates. It's shown per person, and unless you're booking for one traveler, it's based on two people sharing a room.
-
In search results: when you search by destination, month and number of travelers, each tour shows the lowest price for a departure in that month. If you change the month, the From price changes too.
-
On the tour page: you can change the month and number of travelers on the tour page, and the price updates to match.
-
If you're traveling solo: select one traveler to see the lowest price for one person in that month. If the operator offers room sharing, the price is based on you sharing a room with another traveler, and you can usually choose a private room for a single supplement when you book. If the operator doesn't offer room sharing, the price includes the single supplement.
If the price on the tour page is different from the price you saw in search results, check that the same month and number of travelers are selected in both places.
How do I check the price for my date?
On the tour page, select your month and number of travelers, then view the available dates to see the price for each departure. Find out more in How do I find available dates for a tour?.
Why has a sale price disappeared?
Operators can add or remove sale prices on specific tours or departure dates at any time. If you saw a sale price one day and it's gone the next, it's likely the operator has ended the sale. If you've found a tour at a price you're happy with, it's a good idea to book it as soon as you can.
Why is the price slightly different from what I saw before?
If the difference is small, it may be due to currency conversion. TourRadar shows prices in AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, NZD or USD, depending on where you're booking from. If the operator sells the tour in a different currency, the price is converted, so it can change slightly from day to day. Find out more in How do I know what currency I am seeing the price in?.
What else can change the price?
-
Room type: prices are often based on two people sharing a room. If you're traveling solo and room sharing isn't available, a single supplement may apply.
-
Add-ons: optional extras on the booking page, such as excursions and upgrades, are added to your total.
What if I find the same tour cheaper on another website?
